Why Not....

My cats have offically taken over my house. Tigger doesn't like it if doors are shut...so he claws at the doors. I now have paintless strips on almost every door in my house. Both couches have threads pulled from the cat claws. I have cat hair flying everywhere and have to actually vaccum the couches weekly.

I want to have the cats declawed but Michael is very reluctant. Why not, you ask? Probably because the cost of the 'procedure'.

So, I'm thinking....I should get the cats declawed and get a maid and then I'll be set.

Why not, right?

Unfortunately, Josh can't afford to pay his maid to clean our bedroom...
I have put sticky cat claw tape on the chair that one of the cats likes to claw and that has helped...cats also like cardboard to claw on...that might help the door situation. And yes the maid coming more frequently helps with the furballs everywhere.

I guess I should be glad that our kittens are still little and are used to being shut into the bathroom every night. I have put double-sided sticky tape on a cabinet I don't want them climbing on, but mainly I use the spray bottle and a firm "NO" command to get them off/stop them.

We used to have a declawed cat, but then never had the option of letting her be an outside kitty. I think if we ever get another house, I will want them to learn to be outside cats.

Ya know, PetSmart sells these fascinating little "claw Caps". You should try that. BUT be sure to turn on your video camera, because I am quite sure that you trying to glue little plastic caps on your cats claws would be a sure winner on AFV!!
My advice.... dont close the doors and get rid of the furniture... Problem solved!!! : )

I should have had Kitten's claws removed. She doesn't claw the furniture BUT she CLAWS ME!
You have NO IDEA how much fur a cat can shed until you come to my house. That is why EVERYTHING IS COVERED UP! I'm just thankful that Kitten doesn't mind LOCK DOWN (that's what we call it when we restrict her to the Master Suite. We do this whenever we are having company. She is a big scare-dy cat anyway...so it works well for her, too. I put her in LOCK DOWN, clean my house, and then when the guests leave - I cover everything back up and let her loose. Sometimes she doesn't even want to come out. LOL.
Jason says that as long as she has her "salmon" treats...she doesn't care where she is. Today I couldn't find her anywhere and it's only two rooms, a laundry closet and a hallway...guess where I found her? UNDER our down comforter. UNDER IT! Sleeping.

I told you. Our un-declawed cat destroyed our old furniture. I will never again bring a cat inside that has claws. Tell Michael to get over it. Kitties will survive. What's cheaper? Declawing cats or replacing furniture?
